Alpacas VicWest conducts several alpaca shows and events, and participates in the RAS’s Alpaca Show Committee to conduct the Royal Melbourne Show’s Alpaca Show as a joint activity of the three Victorian Regions.

The region’s major show is “AlpacaFest - premier alpaca show” held at Werribee Park Equestrian Centre in June each year.

The major promotional display, show and sale is “Alpacarama” which, in 2010, will be held at the Glenormiston campus of South West Institute of TAFE.

Other key alpaca shows held in the region are:
Sheepvention Alpaca Show” held in conjunction with the massive Sheepvention show at Hamilton in August.  This alpaca show is growing annually and fast becoming one of the state’s most important events.

Warrnambool Alpaca Show is held in conjunction with the Warrnabool Agricultural Show at the end of October and

Colac Alpaca Show, held in conjunction with the Colac Show at the beginning of November.

Alpacas VicWest, in association with Victorian Eastern and Central regions, provides the necessary support to the Royal Agricultural Society of Victoria (RASV) to conduct the alpaca section of the Royal Melbourne Show.  Enquiries about this show should be directed to the RASV or to the region’s nominees to the RASV Alpaca Committee, Reg Smythe and Robbie Cuthill.

Additionally the region mounts displays of alpacas and alpaca information at other shows and events within the region.
